Today's one of our favorite holidays, National Waffle Day!
Wait, National Waffle Day you ask? Who comes up with this stuff??! Well, we researched it and the reason it’s August 26th is because on this date in 1869, Cornelius Swarthout (baller name by the way) received the first U.S. patent for the waffle iron.
We loooove waffles at FlapJacked, not only because of how great they taste but because of how versatile they can be. From breakfast, to lunch, to dinner, waffles deserve a spot at the table. To celebrate, we came up with 3 fresh recipes for you to enjoy. Whether you're looking for sweet, savory or something in between, we've got you covered!
Jalapeño Honey Cornbread Waffles
There’s just something so comforting about cornbread. The warm, crunchy exterior that gives way to the slightly sweet, melt in your mouth goodness inside. We couldn’t help but take this classic comfort dish and kick it up a notch with some spice and a waffle iron.
