Whey Protein is one of nature’s cleanest forms of protein.
Milk is made of two proteins, casein and whey. Whey protein can be separated from the casein in milk or formed as a by-product of cheese making. Once the water and casein content are removed, you are left with whey protein concentrate. Whey protein concentrate is micro-filtered and not heat treated to produce ultra-pure protein, but is rich in both BCAA's and Glutamine. This makes it the ideal protein to help muscle protein synthesis, support fat burning, boost the immune system, improve insulin sensitivity, and decrease appetite. Additionally, whey concentrate is shown to boost production of glutathione, the body’s master antioxidant.
Why Whey Protein Concentrate?
- Fantastic health benefits
- Cleaner protein
- Works better on certain products for taste and texture.

The Gluten-Free Buttermilk is the only pancake mix that is certified gluten-free at this time.
No. All of our pancake and baking mixes contain coconut flour, which is considered a tree nut under FDA regulations.
We make our best effort to use Non-GMO ingredients in our Pancake Mixes whenever possible.
The serving size reflects a measurement of dry mix only (before water is added). One serving is one level (not packed) 1/2 cup. We suggest using a scale to measure out 53 grams.
1 cup mix (2 servings) with 2/3 cup cold water. Once mixed, let sit for 3 minutes to allow the batter to thicken.
FlapJacked pancakes do not cook like regular pancakes. They require low heat to cook, therefore they take longer. The hotter the pan, the more they will stick, burn and not cook all the way through. The batter may be slightly too thin. Try adding an extra tablespoon of mix to thicken up the batter. Make sure that you let the batter sit for 3-5 minutes as directed (the longer the better).
Make sure that you are using a non-stick pan or seasoned cast iron griddle. Lightly grease the pan you're cooking in. The more fat (butter, oil, etc.) used, the more the pancakes will stick. If you think you overdid it, just wipe the surface with a paper towel and you'll be ready to cook. A light hit of cooking spray works best! Remember that FlapJacked does not cook like regular pancakes and they require low heat to cook. The hotter the pan, the more they will stick and not cook all the way through.
Our mixes were designed not only for great nutrition but also for convenience. All you need is water and a griddle. You can use milk or any liquid of choice. Our favorite alternatives are almond milk or club soda.
Yes, you can make waffles! We suggest you add an egg in place of some of the water and decrease the amount of liquid overall. (You also add 5g Protein!) See instructions on the back of the package.
YES! You can substitute your basic flours for FlapJacked in most recipes. FlapJacked has developed many recipes from donuts, banana bread and cookies to casseroles and pizza crust! Check out the endless options on our recipe collection page.

Yes, you can! If a whole muffin is too much, we suggest making half a muffin. Simply, pour half the muffin mix into a plastic bag to save for later and cook the rest using 1/8 cup of water instead of 1/4 cup. When you're ready to make the saved batch you can use a microwave-safe coffee mug.
Follow the instructions on the side of the package or to be accurate, use 1/4 cup of water and mix thoroughly. The batter should be thick.
Our Mighty Muffins were designed not only for great nutrition but for convenience. All you need is water and a microwave.
