Simple Beer Bread

One thing that we love about this beer bread (besides it's great flavor) is that it's so incredibly easy to make! With just four ingredients, it will be ready to bake before the oven even finishes pre-heating. You can use any type of beer in this recipe- our favorite is a pale ale. (If you use a dark beer, replace the sugar with brown sugar for a darker loaf.) The majority of the alcohol cooks out when the bread is baking- but not all of it. If you prefer to make an alcohol-free (kid-friendly) loaf, non-alcoholic beer works just as well.

This bread is the perfect companion to chili or thick soups and can certainly hold it's own! It's also incredibly delicious toasted with a pat of butter.

FlapJacked Simple Beer Bread Recipe

 

INGREDIENTS
3 cups Buttermilk FlapJacked Protein Pancake Mix
2 T sugar
2 T melted butter
1 12 oz. bottle or can Pale Ale (we used Dale's Pale Ale)

INSTRUCTIONS
Pre-heat oven to 375˚. Coat a loaf pan with nonstick spray and set aside. Pour the FlapJacked mix and sugar in a bowl and stir together. Add in the melted butter and start pouring the beer into the bowl, small amounts at a time, until all 12 oz. are poured. Stir together well until you get a smooth batter.  Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan and place in the oven. Let bake for 30 minutes, or until completely cooked through in the middle. When cooled, cut into 12 equal slices. ENJOY!
