Red Velvet Marbled Waffles

Add a little twist to your everyday waffles with this marbled red velvet recipe! Made using our Buttermilk pancake mix, these waffles get their marbled touch by mixing half vanilla and half red velvet batter on the waffle iron. Just as tasty as they are pretty, these waffles also have 14g of protein per serving. Impress your friends and family and whip up a batch of these for the weekend!

  • 2 cups FlapJacked Buttermilk Protein Pancake & Baking Mix
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 ½ cup unsweetened almond milk
  • ½ cup plain non-fat Greek yogurt
  • 1 ½ tbsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 4 tbsp brown or coconut sugar
  • 2 tbsp melted butter, reduced fat
  • 3 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp red food coloring OR 2 tablespoons beetroot juice
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

Red Velvet Marbled Waffles


  • Preheat your waffle iron. In a medium sized bowl, combine the milk, eggs and Greek yogurt-and stir.  Add the melted butter and whisk together.
  • In a large bowl, combine the FlapJacked mix, sugar, salt, & baking powder together. Then, whisk wet ingredients into the dry ingredients.
  • Pour 1/2 of the batter into a bowl. Add the cocoa powder and red coloring. With the other 1/2 of remaining batter, add the vanilla extract.
  • Use cooking spray to grease the waffle maker. Pour 1/4 cup of the red velvet batter onto waffle iron in a pattern of your choosing, then pour 1/4 cup of the vanilla batter over top. Before closing the lid, use a plastic spatula to swirl, making a marble effect.
  • Top the waffle with your choice of berries, whipped cream, or drizzled chocolate. Enjoy!
