Grapefruit Basil Glazed Donuts

We love to take advantage of seasonal ingredients, especially when it comes to fruits and vegetables. One of the things we love about the winter months is the availability of fresh, delicious citrus and grapefruit is one of our favorites. It may sound strange, but the combination of grapefruit and basil is delicious! We used that combination to create this fresh, vibrant doughnut recipe that we think you'll love.

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 TBSP grapefruit juice

    DIRECTIONS

    • Pre-heat oven to 350˚.
    • Combine egg, 1/2 cup grapefruit juice, Greek yogurt and sugar into a large bowl and stir. Add in FlapJacked mix and stir until blended. Fold in basil and grapefruit zest.
    • Use a spoon to dollop batter into a liberally greased doughnut pan (nonstick spray works fine). Divide equally to create 11 doughnuts- batter should fill doughnut pan to the center (but not cover it).
    • Bake for 10-11 minutes, or until doughnuts are cooked through. Let doughnuts cool and prepare the glaze.
    • Sift the powdered sugar medium-sized bowl. Add in 3 TSBP grapefruit juice and stir until well blended.
    • Place one side of each doughnut into the glaze to coat. Repeat with all doughnuts.
    • Serve immediately or refrigerate to save for later. ENJOY!
