Q: ARE THE SMOOTHIES SAFE FOR MY KIDS?
A: Our smoothies are recommended for ages 6+ months. Unless your child has a dietary restriction or allergy, they are a perfectly safe and healthy form of beneficial nutrition. Some of the same ingredients used in our non-GMO smoothies are used in infant formulas and common Greek yogurts.

Q: ARE THE SMOOTHIES SHELF STABLE? HOW LONG?

A: Yes, our smoothies are shelf stable for 18-months.

Q: WHY ARE THE SMOOTHIES BETTER THAN A PROTEIN SHAKE?

A: FlapJacked Smoothies not only taste better than a protein shake but are made with real Greek yogurt powder and are nutritionally dense to supply your body with essential nutrients that we often overlook. Not only do your taste-buds benefit, but your body will thank you for the 860 mg dose of Omega-3 fatty acids and 500 cfus of gut-healthy probiotics to support immune health as part of a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle. Drink to your health!

Q: WHAT IS A SUPERFOOD AND WHY DO I NEED IT?

A: The dictionary term for Superfood is “a nutrient-rich food considered to be especially beneficial for health and well-being;” however; it is not a scientific term. Superfoods are thought to have extra-large doses of vitamins and minerals that can help us live a longer, healthier life. ?? We are proud to add a dose of Acai, Green coffee bean extract and/or flax seed to each serving! Each of these three ingredients have different properties. Green coffee bean extract has a higher level of chlorogenic acid, ACA has very good levels of antioxidants, Vitamin A, Vitamin C and Calcium and Flax has high levels of Omega 3 fats, Vitamin B1 and Copper.

Q: IT HAS COFFEE BEAN EXTRACT. HOW MUCH CAFFEINE IS IN IT?

A: While there is no caffeine directly added to any of our products, our Milk Chocolate Smoothie naturally contains trace amounts of caffeine from cocoa powder. This smoothie has approximately 6 mg of caffeine. The exact amount of caffeine in cocoa powder varies according to cocoa suppliers. In general, however, the U.S. Department of Agriculture reports that each tablespoon of cocoa powder contains approximately 12 mg of caffeine. -- not a lot, but it can affect those with sensitives. A cup of regular coffee has approximately 95-200 mg of caffeine while decaf coffee contains between 2-12 mg.

Q: ARE THE SMOOTHIES DAIRY FREE?

A: No. The main ingredients are Greek yogurt powder and whey protein isolate, which are both dairy products.

Q: ARE THE SMOOTHIES GLUTEN FREE?

A: Our smoothies are not gluten-free. We use gluten-free ingredients and are not certified at this time.

Q: ARE THE SMOOTHIES ALL NATURAL? ARE THEY ORGANIC?

A: Yes, the smoothies are all natural. Based on the FDA, the term “natural” means that nothing artificial or synthetic has been included in, or has been added to, a food that would not normally be expected to be in that food.

No, the smoothies are not organic.

Q: WHAT ARE "NATURAL FLAVORS"?

A: Natural Flavor is flavoring derived from a natural source. Our natural flavors are derived from natural ingredients such as apples and vanilla. Some Natural Flavors used (not in all products) include Maltodextrin (a natural starch) as an anti-caking agent to ensure it’s free-flowing properties, but are minimal (.01%). Our natural flavors do not contain additives and are GMO-free.

Q: WHY DO YOU USE SUGAR AND STEVIA?

A: We use a little bit of real cane sugar to sweeten and enhance the flavor of the Greek yogurt powder. Stevia is used to complete the sweetness without the added calories.

Q: IS CANE SUGAR BETTER THAN REGULAR SUGAR?

A: Most of the sugar in the world comes from two sources: sugar cane and beets, as it is easily extracted from both and both contain large quantities of sucrose in fact 99.95% sucrose. The .05% difference is due in part to the fact that sugar cane and beets are different plants with different chemical makeups grown in different environments. Pure cane sugar is non-GMO while most sugar produced for the world is made from beets produced with GMO’s. While cane sugar (in our opinion) tastes cleaner, both offer a great deal of sweetness. We simply choose the cleaner version.

Q: ARE ALL YOUR INGREDIENTS SOURCED FROM THE U.S.?

A: We do our best to source most of our ingredients from the US; however, some ingredients that Americans enjoy the benefits of (such as Stevia, Coffee Beans, Acai berries) are not grown in the US and must be imported.

Q: HOW MANY CALORIES DOES 8 OZ OF MILK ADD?

A: That depends on the brand and % of milk fat your milk of choice contains. We recommend 2% Milk which adds approximately 122 calories, 5g of Fat, 12 carbs, 12g sugar and 8g protein.

Q: CAN I USE WATER/COCONUT MILK/ALMOND MILK/COCONUT WATER INSTEAD OF MILK?
A: Although we recommend 2% milk, other milk alternatives are suitable. They will be thicker and will require a longer mixing time. If using water, reduce the liquid to 6oz to retain a thick, frothy consistency. (They taste best with milk).

Q: HOW MANY POLYUNSATURATED FATTY ACIDS (OMEGA-3S) ARE IN THE SMOOTHIES AND WHERE DO THEY COME FROM?
A: Polyunsaturated fats can have a beneficial effect on your health when eaten in moderation and when used to replace saturated fat and trans fat in your diet. There is no determined amount published by the FDA, but the consensus seems to be that 10%+ of your caloric intake should come from Polyunsaturated fats or around 500 mg of Omega 3 intake per day. Our Smoothies contain 860 mg of polyunsaturated fatty acids per serving. The polyunsaturated fatty acids come from nutrient-dense flax seed.
