Hi! My name is Ashley, and I live in Gilbert, Arizona, just outside of Phoenix. I'm the blogger behind the healthy lifestyle blog, My Food 'N' Fitness Diaries
, where I blog about my adventures in food, fitness, mommyhood, and everything in between! I am a mommy to two - my two year old son, Hunter, and our little girl who will make her debut in early October. Besides running my blog and being a mama, I also teach group fitness classes - Les Mills BODYPUMP, Les Mills RPM (indoor cycling), and freestyle Total Body Conditioning and boot camp classes. I absolutely love what I do as a blogger, mom, and group fitness instructor - it's the perfect fit for me!
I primarily keep active and fit by teaching my group fitness classes. It's one of my biggest passions and is one of my favorite ways to stay active. My son, Hunter, also keeps me on my toes and we love to stay active together. We go on lots of walks, bike rides, we go swimming, take lots of various field trips, and do many play dates with friends on a regular basis. I also like to hike, water ski, and go on the occasional run.
I've come a long way in my journey with food and exercise. Throughout most of my college years, I battled with an eating disorder and developed a bad relationship with food and exercise. I'm proud to be past that and have learned so much about myself in the process. My hope is to bring more awareness to eating disorders and to encourage and support other women who may be battling with eating disorders. It IS possible to overcome it. My biggest desire is to be a healthy example to those around me and especially to my children.
Because I've had an unhealthy relationship with food in the past, eating healthy has become a huge priority to me. I've recognized the importance of choosing nutritious, REAL foods that make you feel good and look good, which is what I try to consume most of the time. That being said, I've also learned how crucial it is to ENJOY food and the occasional indulgences. You have to live a little! I'm not ashamed to admit my love for desserts and all things peanut butter, both of which make daily appearances in my diet.
